Yorigo?!
"I have several ingredients in my fridge, but I don’t know what to cook. More importantly, I want something new." Many of us experience the same issue. Since we do not have all the ingredients, we cannot rely on recipe books or websites because their recipes might need additional ingredients, which we do not have. To find the recipes that only contains what we have, we can use Yorigo.com.
Yorigo.com is an interactive website to help you find recipes based on the ingredients you have. “Ingredients-based search” makes Yorigo.com unique and special. Other recipe websites use “Keyword-based search,” which has two main problems. First, “Keyword-based search” shows anything that contains the keyword. And this can lead to so many meaningless results. Second, “Keyword-based search” makes it hard for us to exclude the ingredients that we do not want to include. Yorigo.com is different. Yorigo.com will show the results that are meaningful and the ingredients are based on what you have selected.
Technically, Yorigo.com used advanced web technologies, such as JavaScript, AJAX and Web crawling. First, using JavaScript, Yorigo.com employees the “Drag and Drop” technique, which make it fun for the users to select ingredients from the given list, rather than to type in the ingredients, which is often tedious. Second, using AJAX, Yorigo.com shows the resulting data without re-rendering whole page, which makes Yorigo.com faster and more responsive. Lastly, the Web crawling technology makes recipes of Yorigo.com up-to-date. The recipes of Yorigo.com are being imported from top three Korean recipe websites, http://kitchen.naver.com, http://cook.miznet.daum.net, and http://menupan.com.
Since December 15, 2009, Yorigo.com has brought a substantial number of users.
